OPENING CEREMONY, CAROLING, YULE LOG AND CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
To kick off our 49th Annual Olde Tyme Christmas celebration, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, the Harpers Ferry Merchants Association, and representatives from the towns of Bolivar and Harpers Ferry will host an opening ceremony in the heated tent on Shenandoah Street.
An introduction to Olde Tyme Christmas and a presentation on Christmas in 1864 during the American Civil War will be followed by the lighting of a ceremonial Yule Log, caroling up High Street to St. Peter's Catholic Church, and a Christmas Tree lighting on the Church plaza.
